Position Summary:
Employee Benefits Corporation is hiring for a Business Analyst II. The Business Analyst II has the primary responsibility to elicit, analyze, validate, specify, verify, and manage the real needs of the project stakeholders, including customers and end users. The Business Analyst II serves as the conduit between the customer community and the software development team through which requirements flow.
The Business Analyst II is involved at some level throughout the entire software development life cycle. Upon establishment of the requirements baseline, the focus is shifted towards the management of the requirements set and verifying their satisfaction through business requirements, criteria, use cases, and business rules.
This person may work in our Middleton, WI office, fully remote (Wisconsin locations only), or a combination of the two depending on availability. Must be available for one day of onsite training and onboarding in person at our Middleton, WI office.
Responsibilities Include:
Work with the product manager, product owner or project sponsor, or Subject Matter experts to document business requirements
Decompose high-level business and user requirements into functional requirements, specified in an appropriate level of detail and in appropriate forms suitable for use by those who must base their work on the requirements with help from the PMO team
Facilitate detailed requirement gathering interviews and team meetings, employing professional interpersonal skills to include tact, diplomacy and empathy
Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, storyboards, surveys, business process analysis, use cases or user stories, scenarios, task and workflow analysis with help from the PMO team
Represent requirements using alternative views, such as visual analysis models (diagrams), prototypes, or simulations, where appropriate
Write requirements specifications according to standard templates, using natural language simply, consistently, concisely, comprehensible, traceable, feasible, unambiguous, and verifiable
Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in Information Systems, Business Administration or related discipline; may be substituted with 4 years directly related experience
2+ years of experience in a Business Analyst related role
Ability to utilize PMO methodologies and practices in a professional office setting (Agile and Waterfall)
Ability to manage workload across multiple, parallel projects in a dynamic and fast paced environment
Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated analytical thinking, problem solving and organizational skills
Demonstrated ability to develop, maintain and foster relationships at all levels of the organization
An understanding of contemporary requirements elicitation, analysis, specification, validation, and management practices and the ability to apply them in practice
Intermediate proficiency working with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
Access to reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of product management concepts and how enterprise software products are positioned and developed
Previous experience working with COBRA and tax advantaged benefit plans
Business Analyst Certification
