About the Team

Our team provides support for retirement plan testing and reporting of defined contribution plans, including compliance testing, reporting, preparation of government forms, and process servicing tasks for Omni Compliance.

The Retirement Plan Specialist is the subject matter expert (SME) in performing and reviewing retirement plan testing and reporting services for defined contribution plans. This includes year-end allocations, non-discrimination testing, contribution limit testing, government forms preparation, and a variety of client services as defined by customer specific procedures.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Conduct non-discrimination and limit testing as it applies all types of defined contribution retirement plans, including 401(k), 403(b) and 457(b) plans with rare need for review.
  • Perform contribution allocations for all entity types including allocations with self-employment income.
  • Perform contribution allocations for plans usingnew comparability, age-weighted, and other cross-tested features.
  • Analyze and provide resolution for plans that are failing coverage and non-discrimination requirements.
  • Prepare government forms (e.g. Form 5500, related Schedules, Form 5500-SF, Form 8955-SSA, Form 5330) with rare need for review.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot 5500s and audit reports needing reconciliation.
  • Conduct quality assurance (QA) on work prepared by others.
  • Perform corrections under IRS SCP and VCP programs.
  • Comprehend and apply ERISA and Internal Revenue Code and regulations to defined contribution retirement plans.
  • Application of retirement plan document language, especially in reference to testing and reporting.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with clients, plan sponsors, and colleagues.
  • Identify and implementopportunities for improvement.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to colleagues and clients.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of applicable products, services, and company policies and procedures.
  • May participate in business reviews to learn about clients' strategic direction, as well as gain an understanding of the products and/or services FIS is offering.

What You Bring

  • Typically, 4 or more years of experience in an office environment, with one or more years of experience working with retirement plans.
  • Knowledge of compliance requirements for various types of retirement plans, (e.g. 401(k), 403(b), 457(b) plans).
  • Comprehensive understanding of ERISA, Internal Revenue Code and Regulations as it applies to defined contribution retirement plans.
  • Working knowledge of laws and regulations that govern defined contribution retirement plans.
  • Thorough understanding of retirement plan document language and its application to testing and reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Adobe.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to willingly share relevant knowledge and expertise with others.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, team, client service, and time management skills.
  • Resourceful and proactive in gathering information and sharing ideas.
  • Ability to work independently.

Added Bonus If You Have

  • Familiarity with Omni systems, Relius Administration, Relius Government Forms, or similar retirement plan software.

FIS is committed to providing its employees with an exciting career opportunity and competitive compensation. The pay range for this full-time position is $27.76 - $45.25 and reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position based on the posted role, level, and location. Within the range, actual individual starting pay is determined additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Any changes in work location will also impact actual individual starting pay. Please consult with your recruiter about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
